Filtering by Keywords vs. Search Terms

What is the difference between filtering by Keyword vs. Search Term? I made a widget to list the most common words entered into our site's search box. When I used Keyword it just showed this long string of keywords that were used for 100% of sessions. When I changed it to Search Term I am now getting individual words listed and the % of sessions they were used in which is what I wanted but I don't understand the real difference between the two. Thanks!

Search Term is for Site Search, and Keyword is for Adwords.

So if you're examining the usage of your internal site search, you should use Search Term.
