Filtering Internal Traffic via IP address

Guys need some help! I want to track my website but lacking in basics. I am using Airtel in my country as my Internet service provider. I am using its router to access internet. Now i want to exclude data from my internet.

So i went on this website whatsmyip.com and copied my ip and paste it to exclude data from my router. But its still not working. I thing the ip address has changed since then. Any Suggestion?

There are many ways to accomplish this,

 

One of the method is to create a filter with your IP / IP Range and exclude the entire traffic from the report, If you have dynamic IP than this will not work,

 

Other workaround which I use myself is using UTM tag to access my own site, this tracks my visits but under specific source and medium which i can later exclude, segment and so forth - this also helps me verify tracking and other actions on site.

 

URL Example:
yoursite.com/?utm_source=HomeNet&utm_medium=AirtelHome&utm_campaign=Testing

 

URL Builder:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en

 

Above will show your visits in reports under:

 

Acquisition > All Traffic > Source/Medium
