Excluding Hubspot Internal Traffic

Hi guys,

We are using Hubspot CMS for managing our website and create all the blog posts and pages through it.

Google is picking preview pages as direct traffic and showing 100% bounce rate and 0 sec sessions.

Have a look how it appears,

.

I have excluded from URL Query Parameters, but still showing in direct traffic. Please let me know if I am doing it wrong.

Also, I have doubt that Google is picking other internal traffic as well. We have already filtered our IPs which shows only 3-4 views which is not possible as we open our website on daily basis.

I have used two different ways to exclude:

Excluded multiple IPs

We have only two IPs for whole office so I have done it with single IP as well

Excluded single IP

According to our IT guy, we have only two IPs for whole office (15-20 people), I am not sure if I am doing it right.

I have tried several ways for both issues but still facing the same problem.

Thanks in advance for your kind help. Cheers Smiley Happy

Hi,

Here you can find the articles where most of your questions regarding internal traffic and filtering should be answered:

1. http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2015/04/27/internal-traffic-google-analytics/
2. http://online-behavior.com/analytics/filters

One more thing: Your URL Query Parameters are not excluded properly. Make sure you have these query parameters attached to the URL's first. Couldn't find them. Smiley Happy

Great article about query parameters: http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2015/04/17/strip-query-parameters-google-analytics/

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Can you please explain this bit little more "Your URL Query Parameters are not excluded properly. Make sure you have these query parameters attached to the URL's first. Couldn't find them"

I didn't get it exactly what you mean? I would be grateful if you can explain me how to do it properly Smiley Happy

Thanks in advance.
