Change filters in Google Analytics

I read something in Google Groups that when we create a view, this new view can not fetch old data, only new data.

So, I created a new view and populated it with some data. If I create or change a custom filter, my data will be deleted or just filtered?

Hi, Glintt A,

You cannot change historical data by applying a new filter. Filters function going forward from the point when they are applied, and they affect only new data. Filters do not delete historical data.

Hope this helps.
