Are these subdomains or distinctly different domains?

If I was setting up tracking between two related sites such as:

www.example.org and store.example.com

Would I treat these as subdomains or cross domains...given the use of the different domain extensions org and com for the same domain name?

I think they are subdomains...but I want to make sure before I work through the process.

Thanks in advance! T *)

Hi,

They are completely different domains because of the different top level domains (org and com). So if you want to track users moving across them in a single session you need to set up cross domain tracking.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks Arnold!

After I posted...I put some more thought into it and realized that a site I went to the other day, hfsa.org, and then revisited a few days later by mistake at hfsa.com...were two totally different entities...so, the ones I asked about above were also probably different domains...but you're post completely crystalized the answer for me...so, much appreciated!
