UserID view only a subset of all sessions

We implemented the UserID feature to populate when the user is logged in.

However, this means the user id view only shows sessions where the user was logged in.

Is there a way for this view to still contain all sessions?   Should we be setting the UserID to populate in every session?

Hi Sam

You need to create a view that does not have the User ID feature enabled, and use that view when viewing all sessions.

Adding to above, also set the user ID in a custom dimension for it to be available in reports.

So you can't use a UserID view to look at new and returning sessions?? It's only for looking at returning sessions?

Should the custom dimension be set at the User or Session level?

They may enter the site not logged in, but then log in to their account, at which point we see they are a return customer and send the custom dimension as 'true'.
