Tracking when a visitor exits and returns

So there is a portion of our site that a visitor exits and then comes back. We're able to pass query parameters to this URL and receive them back when they return, but we're not really able to add our tracking code to this portion of the site. Will the original session persist across both domains? if the visitor makes it back to our site before 30 minutes, do we even need to setup cross domain tracking?

Hi,

Yes, you need to set up cross domain tracking and to add both domains to the referral exclusion list.
