Tracking setup: multiple domains, single installation

Hello,

I understand there's two scenarios for tracking a single installation - multiple domains website:

1. Applying one GA Tracking Code.

- In this case, one should create a new view to have access to all data. Then, add a FILTER to include the HOSTNAME within GA reports and not just show the URI.

- How would one go about creating the filtered views for each language? Any shortcomings to this methodology?

2. Would cross-domain tracking (via the linker plugin) be a viable alternative or the proper approach even?
