Tracking Likes and Shares on a website without Events

Hi,

we have recently added sharing buttons on our product pages on one of our sites. This includes Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest.

Theoretically we could implement a regular event tracking via GTM and automate it. However, since we have a free versions of analytics and a big product listing, I am afraid adding this much (potential) events will overload our credits...is there anyway around that?

Thanks,

Pauline.

I dont think workaround is possible.

You can start with few social icons and see the traffic flow for events and further add to all.

Hi Pauline,

Recommend reading this great article about tracking social interactions via GTM: http://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-tag-manager-track-social-interactions/

Hope this helps a bit.
