Tracking Google Website Translate

It looks like Google Website Translator events are not being tracked - came across this https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-analytics-analyticsjs/6XPCCy3FSlw.

Is there another solution or should I use my back up plan to create a jquery to trigger an event tracking every time the translate element is clicked?

Hey Alex, how are things?

I don't know at the time if the Website Translate is working or not, but if they're not working for you, I think a great workaround instead of using jquery, is to use Google Tag Manager to fire those click events for you.

Check this out:

Hope this helps.
