Tracking Ecommerce-Checkout Mobile App (iOS)
We have a question regarding tracking the checkout in our E-commerce app (iOS). In the app we use regular screenviews per ''page'', but in the checkout, we redirect people to the web-checkout of our website. The sessions from people who come from the app to the webcheckout are stitched together so that we still track them in the same GA property.
''If you send web and app data for the same property (UA-XXXXX-Y), Google Analytics will display both sets of data in views for that property. This allows for combined app and web views.
If you want to send app and web data for the same property but maintain a separate app and/or web view you can create Filters. For example, you can have a combined view (default), a web view, and an app view.''
This way, we can easily track how many people actually converted.
Unfortunately, you can't compare screenviews and pageviews between app and website, so we track the steps in the checkout with events.
However: We would like to see one check-out flow, instead of stitching screenviews together with events.
So: How do we do this in the GA User Interface, instead of some dirty solution of datastitching in BigQuery?
