Sub-page tracking

I have a web page with a tab called Special Reports.  I simply want to track which reports people open.  How?  I get great data on all the primary page tabs but noting on the content under each.

Hi Randy,

It really depends on the format of the reports. I take it, since you are asking, that the reports do not open on your site as a web page and are instead PDF or some other downloadable. So the usual and best way to handle this would be event tracking. If you are using GTM, this is pretty straight forward to create a rule and tag for this.

If you are using the GATC directly on the page instead, then you need to have your developer create an event listener or modify your markup to pass some JavaScript when the reports receive an interaction.

Hey Randy,

Then the suggestions I gave will definitely work. Since you are not using GTM, you'll have to have someone create a custom listener or add the event tracking to the markup.

There is a framework here for your developer that may be helpful:
