Some events are visible only on non-userid

Hello, recently I implemented event tracking via GTM.

I did this via additional variables (gaEventAction, gaEventCategory, gaEventLabel) in GTM, so in the source code I put

var dataLayer = [{"userId":1},{"event":"gaEvent","gaEventCategory":"category","gaEventAction":"validation","gaEventLabel":true}];

before GTM code.

Everything is working perfectly fine, I do see all the events in my non-userid view, however in the userid view I see not all the events. By looking at clientId and session history I know for sure that user was logged in and the event missing on userId report was triggered.

What might cause missing these events on userId view?

Hi,

Did you set up userId field name for every tag? If you did this only for Pageview tag, you wouldn't see your event in userId view.

Hi @Ilia K,

It might be related to your userid view's filters. Please double check them.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Ilia K,

Please make a note that - User ID has to be set and sent along with every event Tag. Make sure you use the right value as per your Data Layer Variable configured.

Cheers!
