Site search not tracking in Analytics

I set up Google Analytics to track our site search, however, I am not getting any results after a couple of weeks. Our site search is set up to transfer to a google search with the limiter "site:" http://library.nau.edu/  Any advice on how to get searches into Google Analytics, is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

the problem is that the search is not happening on your site. In normal setup Google Analytics would extract the search keyword from the URL, for example: http://library.nau.edu/search-results.html?keyword=what-i-searched

Now when I enter search keyword and press Enter I get redirected to Google search and this is something that you cannot capture. There is also another problem with this approach: Most likely your number of sessions are inflated and broken since users are bounced back and forth with Google search.

You might want to take a look at https://cse.google.com and if possible use the power of Google search without sending users away from your site.
