Hi,

You have two instances of the tracking code installed. You need to remove one of them in order to resolve the issue. Let me know if you have questions.

Hi Arnold,

Thanks for your information. Actually we have created universal code from Google analytics, but i have classic code in my website .

Here i have same code "UA-xxxxxxxx-xx" in two scripts.

let me know how can i remove one instance among those two.

Thanks,
Ramakrishna

Hi,

You need to remove the classic code and have only the universal analytics code on your site. You need to edit your html files to remove the old code or if you are using a cms like Wordpress you need to remove the plugin that inserts it. Let me know if you need help with it.

Hi Arnold,

1. Classic code:

<script type="text/javascript">
var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-xxxxxxxx-xx']);
_gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);
(function() {
var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
ga.src=('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();
</script>

2. Universal code:

</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');
ga('create', 'UA-xxxxxxxx-xx', 'auto');

ga('send', 'pageview');
</script>

In above two scripts i have 1st script in my website(classic code). But 2nd one is the universal code which we have generated through Google Analytics.

So which one i have to insert in my website, in order to avoid "Same web property is tracked twice" issue.

Thanks,
Ramakrishna

Hi,

You need to insert only the universal code.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Arnold,

If i insert Universal code in my website then "Same web property ID is tracked twice" status has been removed from Google Tag assistant.

Actually i got this issue, when i'm searching with Google Tag assistant.

Let me know once.

Thanks,
Ramakrishna
