Hi Brownyn!

I'm just starting my website and before I add the GTM tracking code Google Tag Assistant says I have no tags on the page. Once I add the GTM code it shows both Google Analytics tag and Google Tag Manager tag. The Google Analytics tag says the property ID is tracked twice. I'm at a loss! My website is https://theculinarianonline.com/. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Tara

Hi Tara,

Please check your tracking tags in GTM, it seems that you have two Universal Analytics tags in your container.

Remove one of them in order to resolve the double tracking issue. Hope this helps.

Hi Arnold -

Thanks so much for responding! You were right. I did have two Universal tags in my container. I deleted one but I'm still getting the property ID tracked twice message in Tag Assistant. I made sure the updated version of GTM was published and refreshed my static homepage. Does this take time? My understanding is that it should change immediately. Again, thanks so much for your help.
