Mobile app analytics - Environments & testing?[ Edited ]

Looking for some advice.
What is the best way to setup Google Analytics for Mobile Apps with GTM in dev, staging and prod environments and test your app builds before deploying live?
For environments, do you use separate a dev GA/GTM and copy across updates to prod GA/GTM or is there a way to use a single GA/GTM and filter?
When testing, is there a better way other than checking screens/events are working through real-time GA report?
Thanks in advance.
Re: Mobile app analytics - Environments & testing?
Yes a good way to separate your testing from production is to have a dev GTM and dev GA property as well as a production GTM and GA property. You can use a single GA propertybut the issue of course will be data pollution due to your testing.
As for testing to see if the hits are firing there are two good programs that I like to use. One is called Fiddler (http://www.telerik.com/fiddler)for PC, the other one is called Charles (https://www.charlesproxy.com/) for mac. You can proxy your phone app to either one of these programs and watch the network hits come through which will give you a more accurate reading when testing your app for Analytics hits.
Fiddler is a fully free program where Charles is free but you will have to restart the program every 30 minutes .
Hopefully this helps,
