Missing Tracking Code

Hi - late last year a website that I look after suddenly stopped reporting any traffic - after about 18 months without a problem -  a message from analytics said that the tracking code is missing - however it is not! And no changes were made to the site during that time - I've installed tag assistant on my browser and it detects the analytics tracking code on every page - I've hit the "check again" button in analytics but it keeps coming back with the same "missing tracking code" message - I've deleted all filters on the account (it was being hit pretty hard by referral ghost spam)  and checked webmaster tools to see if any resources are being blocked - they are not. The site is http://www.richlandgemstones.com - I would really appreciate any suggestions on how I can fix this - thank you.

Hi John,

Your tracking code is inserted between the closing </head> tag and the opening <body> tag. You cannot have anything between these tags, it makes your html invalid and GA is unable to detect your tracking tag there.
Please move your tracking code up to have the closing </head> tag after your tracking tag. Hope this helps.

Hi Arnold - thanks for that - I've moved the tracking code back into the head - however this is where it was when the problem first came up - I moved it in an attempt to fix the problem - but you're probably right about that being a bad place to put it. I'll get analytics to check again and hopefully tomorrow my stats will be back...
