Missing Tracking Code

I'm a novice on GoogleAnalytics. When using below <script> the tracking obviously takes place

BUT: I always have the 'Bell with the red exclamation mark' (upper right corner)!

Should I just ignore it?

What might I miss because of this?

PS: I'm using 'Edge'

<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

ga('create', 'UA-xyz-4', 'auto');
ga('send', 'pageview');

</script>

Hi,

When you open the error message, there is a "check again" button, please click it and GA will check if it can find the tracking code on your site. Also you can check with the Google Tag Assistant Chrome plugin if your tracking code implementation is correct. Please check the article below for more details about this error message:

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I have done 'check again' always using: ga('create', 'UA-xyz-4', 'MySite');

Does it need to be 'auto'? Years ago it worked with 'MySite' !

What's the difference using 'auto' vs. 'MySite' ?

it seems to work with 'auto' ... the red exclamation mark is gone!

thanks for clarification, ed
