How to track the traffic exchange between to sites with cross domain tracking enabled

I've site A & B with cross domain tracking enabled, and cross domain tracking works fine.

 

How do I track the traffic exchange between these two sites without loosing the source/origin of the user. I mean which link/button user clicked to get to other site.

You create an Outbound link Event tag to fire on outbound links or other options like specifically firing only on Site B links that the user clicked on and vice versa

I thought of that, but how do I track click from individual buttons/links(the medium), if I use UTM parameters I'll lose the source and medium of the origin.
