I recently moved my site from http://www.itcontractorsuk.com to https://www.itcontractorsuk.com (via 301 Redirect of the entire site)

What changes do I need to make in my current analytics code to receive https analytical data? do i need to install 2 separate trackers?

and do I need to still keep both the versions in webmaster tools as well?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Smit

Hello ,

I think you should not do any code change if you are using any CMS. But be sure it is working in Real time.i.e if you open your browser https://www.itcontractorsuk.com and see in real time the hit is recorded. You don't have to do any code change.

If it does not work you should create a diifrent tracking code for https.
Thanks

Thanks Soumik.. your reply did help..

However, my confusion is what to do with the https version of the site in webmaster tools? do i not need to link that with analytics. If yes, then with which one? HTTP or HTTPS

Of course https version. You should link it with https version in the webmaster tool and montor it from there.Just ignore the http version because ultimately all traffic is redirected to https
