How can I update the value of a custom dimension without sending a pageview/event?

I am using the Measurement Protocol to update the values of custom dimensions based on the users client id. I would like to update the value without effecting pageviews, what would be the best solution for that? Thank you.

Hi Cody

Please try to send with an event with "nonInteraction" set to true.

It is not counted in pageviews and sessions. However, only the number of users will be counted.

Maybe it will work if you exclude the event with a view filter. But I have not tried it, so I don't know.

Thanks.

non-interaction event. This will prevent metrics such as bounce rate, session duration, etc. from being affected by the event.
