Hello,

I have tried setting up google analytics on my website but the tracking code is not working correctly.  Methods I have tried:
  - Inputting google tracking code into the body of the website
  - Downloaded google analytics plugin for wordpress, and inputting the google tracking ID
  - Creating a new google analytics property and using the new tracking ID / code

Errors:
  - No HTTP Response detected.
  - An error occured while the tag was fired: net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Any help would be greatly appreciated -- Thanks!

Hi :-)
what is the tracking id for your tracking code?
I'm seeing tracking for UA-81707807-3 installed in the <head></head> section
Is that same as the UA# on your Property Setting page in GA?

1) Make sure that the website url in the Property Setting page and any View Setting pages is entered

without the www

2) How are you adding the tracking code snippet? Does your active them have an admin setting for adding scripts to your head section of your site? If so.. then put the js script snippet into that
If not, then i do strongly suggest you use a plugin as editing core theme files such as header.php to make hard edits to the code goes against WP best practices.

Usually it will take 24hrs or so once the tracking is installed correctly to start seeing data in the GA reports

I've just switched it back to the original property's ID -

UA-81707807-1.  This matches the UA# on the property settings page in UA.

I do exclude the www in the property settings page.

I am implementing via the Google Analytics plugin in Wordpress.

I am using the google tag manager chrome extension to check real-time results, and it is confirming that there are errors (the two that I mentioned in my first post)

Hi

I checked your proposed site.

However, it looks like NO problem.

Do you have pageviews are measured in real-time reports.

Thanks, Ryota.

Did you change something the site, in the past few minutes?

It seems to be sent to the UA-81707807-1, but not sent to the UA-81707807-3.

Yes - I had tried creating a new property (UA-81707807-3) to see if that would resolve the issue, but it didn't so I went back to original property.

Did you trying to send to Google Analytics both of UA-81707807-1 and UA-81707807-3?

If so, there is a need to change the tracker name.

I'm now seeing tracking for UA-81707807-1
If you are using a plugin, check that its not to exclude your visits by default

or your hits wont be tracked if you are trying to test your visits in the Real time reporting.

Make sure the website url is also entered into the View settings page correctly without the www.

Give it all time to 'bake' and let the GA system catchup and calibrate n that.

Real time reporting can take up to a couple of hours to reflect GA configuration changes.
