HTML code <HEAD>

I would like to help people to access my site.  At the moment I have in my HTML file -

<head>

<meta name="description" content="Preventive maintenance for computers">

<meta name="keywords" content="A, B, C">

<meta name="author" content="Bill Ridgeway">

</head>

However, when I do a keywords search in Google there is no mention of my web site so the above code is obviously not working.

Can anyone please let me have a simple <head> code to which I can add my key words and plant in my HTM file?

Thanks.
