Google URL builder to track campaigns in Analytics only working 50% of the time

Hello Experts,

We are using the GOOGLE URL BUILDER to track re-marketing campaigns but there is a discrepancy in adwords and analytics. It looks like we are only tracking about 50% to analytics. For example, last month adwords shows 44 clicks on a particular campaign ( all with the same Tracking URL built in Google) but analytics only shows 21with the referral/source code.

What are we missing and what could be causing this?

Here is a URL built ( Using different website for client privacy )

http://www.ABC.com/VehicleDetails/used-2007-Jeep-Wrangler-2dr_Sport-St._Augustine-FL/2988164823?utm_...

Here is another just going to home page:

http://www.ABC.com/?utm_source=VINTARGET&utm_campaign=RETARGETING

Thanks

Hi Vin,

I would recommend you check the http requests and check that when you click on any marketing links back to your website that the redirects or server side logic don't affect the campaign referrer data.

Use tag assistant in Google chrome and record your journey from Google to your site and then view the journey. This way you can see if the campaign information is retained in the session.

I believe AdWords uses the AdWords server when someone clicks a link from Google, whereas Google analytics uses referral informaiton and campaign data within utms etc..

Hope this makes sense.
