Google Analytics in Dreamweaver

I'm trying to add my google analytics code to my site. I added it to my footer.asp file in Dreamweaver. This works fine the pages with a footer. However, I have a page where I don't have a Footer OR a Header file. Where do I put this code in the Source code file then? PLEASE HELP! Every post I've read you have to put this in the header or footer, but I know there has to be a work around.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Alison,

The Google Analytics Tracking code, at least the latest version (Universal Analytics), performs best before the close of the header.  That said, it works wherever you put it, so feel free to put it directly in the body or in the footer as you have already done.

Basically the placement higher up just causes it to run sooner and give you slightly better measurement.   If you have millions and millions of visitors, this is important.

Best,

Hi Theo,

I added the code in the very top of the body, and that analytics still
aren't working. Is there something I'm missing?

Since there's no header/footer I feel like I'm stuck. All of my other pages
I added the code to the footer and this is working. I still need it on that
other page however.

Thanks for your help.
