Hello, i wonder if i need to add the Google Analytics Js code to EACH page ( for articles, posts, news ) added to my website? or is this coded only added to the main html page?

I mean this because i have like 1300 views in to days for a particular page/article ( the web page counts visits to each post by itself) and google analytics only received liked 200 visits during those days.

Hi Adrian,

You need to add the tracking code to each page you want to track in Google Analytics.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Ah, so every time i create a post to my website, i should add  the JS Code to its html code, right. thats explains a lot, and i guess explains the different amount of visits.

but how can i add the code if there is no way i can edit it through Wordpress ? ( it is all handled throug its interface, i couldnt access the code, i think.)

Hi @Adrian V,

no, you don't have to add the code to each and every page because WordPress does it for you.

The question is: How did you add the GA code to your WordPress installation? Via PlugIn (which one)?

Manually?

Where did you put it? In the head or the footer?

Best regards

Arne

Hi @Adrian V,

the plugin is from 2013!

So perhaps (if not sure) it won't be compatible with the latest stable wordpress release. It isn't even featured within the wordpress plugin catalogue!

https://wordpress.org/plugins/

Please consider taking one of the featured ones.

I suggest Google Analyticator or Google Analytics by Monster Insights:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analyticator/

https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/

If it doesn't work with one of these, please report it here again, perhaps with the URL of your site to have the possibility to check, why it doesn't work.

Hi @Adrian V,

nice site!

But now you track Analytics twice!

So please deactivate (and uninstall) the old plugin.
