Google Analytics Google Tag Manager Product linking

I have installed Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.  I have installed Tag Manager, Set up a property variable with my GA Tracking ID and a Universal Analytics Pageview Tag and an event tag. Both tags seem to be triggering in preview mode.

However, the Google Tag Manager account is not linking to my Analytics account. The Tracking ID is correct- I have checked it twice.

Do you know how I can correct this?

Hi :-)

Not sure I'm understanding what you mean by GTM not being linked to your analytics account. It doesnt get 'linked'.

Are you able to provide further details about the issue you are experiencing?

I am seeing nothing at all in GA from my GTM account. I have set-up the
Universal Analytics Pageview Tag with the Variable on of my GA Property and
the Tracking ID (which I checked twice). I have also set up a tag with an
GTM event- both tags are firing.

Normally, under product linking (please see the attached), I would see
Google Tag Manager and the Container ID. I can't see anything.

Kind regards,
Alexandra

GTM doesn't link to anything. It is a tag management platform. You can verify your analytics is working correctly by checking your real time reports. I know you said above it works in preview, have you published your container yet and done a live test?

There does not appear to be an attachment in your post.

I am in agreeance with @Matt M's response. Have you published the container and done a live test and checked your GA real time reports.

Yes - I have published the container. I don't see anything in GA.

I see GTM is on your site and also see analytics firing. But you also have hard coded GA on the site. How are you testing to see if it works?

Thank you for pointing this out- I have removed the GA script and the pageview tag is definitely showing in Google Analytics.

I set up a UA event tag in GTM, with the same property variable- why is this not showing under events?
