GA Experiment: does it work with GTM

Hi!

I need to start AB test using GA Experiments.

I've followed the instructions https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1745216?hl=en, but it's not clear does it work if the GA at my website fires through GTM?

I've added the Experiment Code after the opened <head>  tag, it's above the GTM code, but the GA interface shows me errors: http://prntscr.com/f1zrmn

Anyway, I've started the experiment and i see that website starts show me different types of my page. But the problem is that it doesn't remember what version of page it has shown to visitor. I've open the website and see Test1 page, then i go to one of internals pages of mu website and when i'm back to my test page it showed me the the origin version of it.

Can anybody explain is it right to put the GA Experiment code to website if there is GTM is set?

And if it's wrong can you please advise what should i do to start this experiment and how to make GA show the only one version of page during the one session?

Best regards,

Tanya

Hi Tanya. Google Content Experiments and Google Analytics trackers fired via GTM will collide.

I suggest you to use Google Optimize that can work easily using GTM.

Hi

We have a content experiment working with the normal GA code. However I want to put in Universal Analytics through Tag Manager. Will this be compatible with the content experiment?
