Filter Product List Perfromance by custom, 2nd dimension

Hi,

I'm using the Enhanced Ecommerce Tracking to track my Product Lists. I add data in JavaScript like this:

ga("ec:addImpression", {
  brand: null,
  dimension2: "shop123",
  id: 1,
  list: "Search",
  name: "Product 123",
  position: 1
});
ga("send", "pageview");

As you can see, I'm setting a custom dimension (dimension2) along with my ec:addImpression call.

But when I go to Conversions > Ecommerce > Product List Performance and I add a this dimension as 2nd dimension, I get no results.

Interesting enough, when I set another custom dimension globally with

ga('set', 'dimension1', 'city_part');

I can filter by the dimension without any problem.

So my questions are:

1. Is setting a custom dimension along with ec:addImpression not supported?

2. If it is NOT supported: Is there any way around it, so that I can filter Product Impressions by a custom dimension?

3. If it IS supported, am I doing something wrong?

Hey Hubert,

It is supported.
First wrap your keys in quotes and move the custom dimension to the last like in the example

Have you set these custom dimension in GA with scope product.

Hope this helped you Smiley Happy

Kind Regards

Hi Norman!

Thanks for your quick reply! I didn't know that a custom dimension can have a scope, so I changed it to 'product'. I think it takes some time to take effect in my panel, I'll let you know if it worked.

BTW: The order of the properties and if they are wrapped in quotes doesn't matter. The quotes are optional for JS object, as long as you don't use spaces or other special characters.
