Event tracking+Ecommerce tracking implementation query

Hi Guys,

I'd appreciate some advice about setting up event tracking and ecommerce tracking please.

1. Should I place the scripts in the within the <head> section for each before my standard analytics tracking code script and does it matter in which order I place them?

2. Do you recommend I build the script using google tag manager and is there any further configuration of GTM I need to bear in mind?

3. How soon will I see data coming into my dashboard?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @John-Paul P,

I would skip 1) and move directly to 2).

With GTM you have 2 main tasks - male the information needed for Enhanced Ecommerce available via dataLayer object AND set up the tags within GTM which will push this info to Analytics. This can be achieved by following this help article: https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/enhanced-ecommerce

Once all is implemented you can expect data to show inside a few hours.

Kind regards,
