I have setup google analytics on my page and want to track the number of clicks on the BOOK NOW button - as this goes to an external url I have setup an event for it. However, its not tracking and I dont understand why - can someone please assist?

Chris,

You have:

ga(‘send’," ‘event’,="" ‘product="" page’,="" ‘book="" now’,="" ‘morning="" london="" tour="" and="" stonehenge="" express="" tour’);

You should have something like this:
ga(‘send’, ‘event’, ‘product’, ‘book now’, ‘morning london and stonehenge expres tour’);

You may also consider using event callback or beacon to give time for the hit to occur.

Google Tag Manager makes this type of tracking much easier. Smiley Happy

Chris,

You are using the wrong syntax and don't need the "javascript" .

You have UA code on the site and are using a legacy version of event tracking. Follow this guide:

https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events

Thank you for your response, I have updated - would you mind checking to ensure I have done this correctly as I have checked in realtime and its not showing any events.
