Do experiments track across sessions?

I have a search page, that users use repeatedly. I'm trying to use experiments to track changes to our search algorithm. It seems in a regular experiment, if they search and then click on a result, this would be recorded as a conversion. If they search twice and only click on a result in the second search, this would also be one view and one conversion.

How can I create separate experiment sessions for each search?

I thought creating a new ga session would do this, but then I readhttps://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6112437# and that doesn't seem to be the case.
