Data string too long for GA

Hello,

The problem that I'm facing is that the data string is too long to send correctly to Google Analytics. I already contacted Google and the send me to this forum. I'm trying to measure the e-commerce on a website with a lot of product and items. When someone paid their products the data is send tot Google Analytics, but the data string is to long because of all the different items and products.

Data of 40 different products > send to Google Analytics > Data string too long to measure correctly

The error I get:

Error on page webshop.aspx

The remote server returned an error: (413) Request Entity Too Large.

   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()

   at Snakeware.Site.Specific.SendData(String pData, Boolean credit)

My question: How can I measure e-commerce with that many different items per order, without making the data string too long?

With kind regards,

Mats

How are you sending the data - each product should a separate hit within the transaction, which are indexed with a maximum of 200. Does your ecommerce ever work, or is nothing sent to GA?

+1 to @jrosell - this could very well be the cause, I've seen this myself also. Good catch! If you're implementing via GTM then you could also consider switching of product impressions measurement to see if this is the culprit.
