Cross Domain Tracking without URL Parameters
Does anyone know of a way in which CDT can be successfully implemented without the use of URL parameters from one domain to the next in the journey? We track visits from our main brochureware site to a site managed by a third party (where we can still track visits), however they've recently released an update which blocks out all URL parameters for security reasons, meaning we can't implement CDT as we know how to and now all completed journeys are being recorded as referrals, not to mention losing continuity of the journey from one site to the other.

Yes, you'll need to add referral exclusions in your google analytics account first. Click on admin > tracking info > referral exclusions to add all domains that you don't want treated as referral partners.
Then, add your google analytics code to fire via the google tag manager. In GTM you'll need to add two variables, one called "gaDomain" set to "auto" and "gaCrossDomains" and under value add all the domains you wish to be cross tracked in your google analytics account.
