Changing Reverse Proxy from Microsoft TMG (Threat Management Gateway) to F5 stopped analytics.

For some reason after we changed our reverse proxy from TMG to an F5 appliance google analytics has gone from 1500 hits /day to 125.

I checked and we are still getting the google javascript code downloaded to the browers.

The code received by the browsers is below.

Does anyone have any ideas?

<script>

(function (i, s, o, g, r, a, m) {

i['GoogleAnalyticsObject'] = r; i[r] = i[r] || function () {

(i[r].q = i[r].q || []).push(arguments)

}, i[r].l = 1 * new Date(); a = s.createElement(o),

m = s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0]; a.async = 1; a.src=g; m.parentNode.insertBefore(a, m)

})(window, document, 'script', '//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js', 'ga');

ga('create', 'UA-xxxxx-xx', 'auto');

ga('send', 'pageview');

</script>

Rob,

Just confirming that you in fact are using the proper account and property and this:

ga('create', 'UA-xxxxx-xx', 'auto');

is only a placeholder to protect your account.  other than that, I have no idea and have not come across that.

To dig deeper use data range comparison using the switchover date as your begin... then compare to previous period>> sort by absolute change and see where you are losing traffic.  It may be from just one source/medium like Direct.

Good luck!
