Calculate standard error for core reporting metrics

Hello,

When I get a number like "pages per session" or what have you, is there a way to calculate standard error, or some other statistical measure of variance? Ideally, I would like it to reflect the effect of sampling.

Thank you,

David

Hi David,

what kind of sampling are you refering to?
Data collection sampling or reporting sampling?

Hi Julian,

Reporting sampling. Even ignoring the sampling issue, I can't get error bars. For example, let's say I wanted to report on pages per session. There is definitely a statistical distribution underlying this metric, but all I can get (without looking at the histogram) is the average.

Best,
David

Google Analytics only provides averages, which can be quite frustrating. :-|
