Bounce Rate 0%

Hi

My client recently updated their website, and since then the bounce rate has dropped to 0%.

Obviously this is wrong but I'm not sure how.

I've asked the web developer to check the GA tags are not on any pages twice and he says its not.

I have an event tracker but only on one page - a booking confirmation button - which I have only just got to work, so don't think it can be that.

Is there a way I can double check the tag implementation (easily?!) or are there other reasons it could have dropped down?

Help much appreciated!

Louise

Hi,

Did you check the site using the Google Tag Assistant Chrome extension?

It will show you if there is a double tracking issue.

Let me know what you find.

Hi Arnold,

I've just used it now, and it seems to only have one tag on each page.

Thanks

Louise

Is it all landing pages which are showing a bounce rate of 0%, or just some?

Hi John,

No it is not all pages now, but it is most.

The Homepage, About Us page, and Laser hair removal pages all have a bounce rate (although they are still low between 8% and 28%).

All others have 0%.

Thanks

Louise

You have an Google Events package in the footer of your page - it automatically creates events for things like form completions, external page clicks, etc.  In this package is a scroll tracker that is firing upon page load and as you scroll.  You should be seeing "Scrolled" in your events with "scrolldepth", etc.

Non-Interaction is set to "false" - for scroll depth tracking it should be set to "true" so it doesn't mess up your bounce rate like this.

Are you using the Gravitate WP plugin or code based on that plugin?  Turn it off and see if it fixes this.

Hi Philip

Thanks for your help.

I've just signed into the account to look into these settings and rectify (Im using code based to answer your question), but all my data seems to have disappeared and the Admin section looks like this...

Is this just a glitch or has my account been wiped somehow?!

Thanks
