Another site using my clients GA code

Hi.

I have a client and in December 2015 their analytics started tracking another website.

It also stopped tracking the clients website at that time.

The clients website did not remove the analytics code at anytime.

It just appears that the other website stated using the code and from that point they lost the tracking for their own site.

Has anyone heard of this before?

Thanks

Hi @Ser,

Unless the other site has access to the Google Analytics Account (Login and Password) nobody can use your tracking code. If somebody stole the credentials, you can try to get them back. Does your client still have access to the property? if not you can try this

On the other hand, If you are seeing strange pages, referrals, etc most probably is spam, you may see referrals with domain ending in .xyz. (there are many others). If this the case then you need to apply a filter to stop it but nobody stole your code. You can find more information and a guide here.

Hope it helps.
