redirect within domain as new refferal (newbie)

Hi,

 

i'm new.. i was looking for answer, so if it is somewhere here already, dont kill me Smiley Wink

 

i use domain

www.somedomain.com

 

i have some propagation letter.. and I need to track visitors, whose come from this letter. so I changed the address there to 

www.somedomain.com/letter

 

I make a redirect in www.somedomain.com/letter/index.php to www.somedomain.com

 

how to track those visitors (i want to see it in some kind of source type) .. like refferals from www.somedomain.com/letter

 

how to do it? 

or is there any better way to do it?

Hi Lukas,

These are called the vanity URLs, where in short URL will convert to long form on the actual web site at web server level.

You need to add the campaign parameters to the long form of the URL (Make sure not adding to the short form) which you are configuring at server level.
