Why is one of the pages on my site, showing as a referrer?

We have added a couple of new pages to our site, informational, product specific and out of  our "normal" page hierarchy, though still on our domain. These pages are showing up as referral sources.

They have our tracking code on them. Why would they be showing as  referrals? I feel like I am missing something obvious, but for the life of me i can't find any reason.

Hi Colleen,

A couple of questions that help us to figure out what might cause those self-referrals:

1) Do you have exactly the same UA code on all those pages?

2) Do you have your own domain entered in your referral exclusion list?

3) Do you have any pages on your site that you're hosting on your subdomain (like store.xyz.com/product)?

4) Could you please share the URL of your website?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

Cheers,

Taavi

Taavi,

thank you for your response.

1) yes, we are using Tag Manager, and the first thing i did was check the code.

2) yes, domain is in referral exclusion list

3) my instant response was no, but then it occurred to me we did just create a blog, and i haven't added that to the  exclusion list. I will do that.

4) we are a family of sites www.jobsintheus.com is the umbrella site. www.jobsinme.com is the view with the most traffic. The page causing problem is /quickpost
