Which property do I link with my Analytics account?

Hi All,

I originally set up my site with a naked domain at http://domain.com and have since decided to use the www subdomain, so I created a 301 redirect to http://www.domain.com and added it as a property in Search Console.

The original naked domain ( http://domain.com) has been linked to my Analytics account since the beginning of last week. Do I now link the new property (www subdomain) with my Analytics account or do I not change anything? Also, should the original naked domain be removed from Search Console if I do link the new property? A bit confused here. I appreciate any help provided.

Hi @KF88 :-)

Hi :-)
Both the www and none-www of the domain name should be in added to and verified in search console.
You should then configure it all so that www.domain.com is the preferred domain.

In the existing Analytics Property Settings page and also any Views for the Property, make sure the Website url is changed to now include the www in the domain name.

Also in the Property setting page at the bottom, edit the link to search console to change it link to the verified www.domain.com one.

If you have further questions about analytics, pls post back
If you need further help with search console or have seo related q's, best place to ask those is on the

webmaster help forum https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters

Thanks

Bronwyn :-)
