I started a new job and took over Google Analytics... how can I be sure we are using Universal Analytics and not the older versions? I am a beginner, so any extra detail and explanation would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

All of the Google Analytics properties have been transferred automatically to Universal Analytics and all of the newly created properties are Universal Analytics. You can check your tracking code in Admin -> Property -> Tracking Info -> Tracking Code. If the code on the site is the same syntax you're using the Universal Analytics tracking code (analytics.js). If you are using Google Tag Manager make sure your analytics tracking tag type is Universal Analytics. Hope this helps, let me know if you have questions.
