Unable to restore my old account/property

I recently had my site redesigned and shifted to a new host server.  Despite adding in the old analytics code, it appeared not to be showing representative data.  I was unable to obtain a new tracking code from the admin area for this account (set up in 2012).  So my designer had a look and set up a new account, property and view (yesterday) and got a new set of code for the site, which appears to be working.

However, I wanted to keep the old account/property on there so I could still view the old analytics data from the old website.  I've tried to restore it, but it won't let me - even when I select the title of the old account in the drop down menu, it appears in light grey with a line through it, as does the property and view and I can't even select the 'rubbish bin' link under account.  What options do I have to restore this account?

I'd be grateful for any advice.

Hi Aniket S :-)
How was the old analytics account created? Did you access it via a login or interface provided by your previous site hosting?
Did you log into your previous site's google account using a gmail email address?
