Unable to delete user that set up Google analytics for a url attached to main account[ Edited ]

I am the main user on my Google Analytics account with full permissions.
I gave "Edit", "Collaborate" and "Read & Analyze" permission to someone about 2 weeks ago their job was to set up tracking for another domain to be attached to this Google account.
I checked in today and saw that they now have full permission (with manage users permissions) the same as me.
This is bizarre because I definitely did not give them this. Now I find that I cannot delete them. Their permissions only appear at view level but when I click on the arrow next their email all the boxes are ticked and I am unable to untick any boxes.
I am trying to delete the user but at the account level it says I do not have sufficient permissions to modify users on this account?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
