Unable to add a new filter in Google Analytics

Hi all,

I want to filter on new users who are arriving to my site by mobile - but I'm not given an option to create filters.

I have "Manage Users, edit, collaborate, read & analyse" permission on the account.  I have created new views and still under the Admin section of the view, the "All Filters"  is greyed out (I cannot click further) and when I go to the 'Filters' link on the right hand side of the admin page - I do not get a "New Filter" option.

However, when I go to the the 'Content Group' or 'Goals' link on the right hand side of the admin page, I get a 'New Goal' and 'New Content Group' button.

I've Google searched this for ages on how to add a new filter - can anyone help?

Thanks,

Elin

Hi Elin,

Edit permission is required at the account level to create filters. Edit permission is required at the view level to apply filters.
Please see User permissions https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2884495?hl=en & Create and manage view filters https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034823?hl=en

An account is segmented into three admin sections: Account > Property > View

You likely only have access to the "Property" portion if you cannot add/remove users or add filters.

You will need to be given all rights at the "account" level if you require full access

Thanks Brian. I'll check with the team what level permissions I have.
