Regaining access to Company Google Analytics account

Hello,

We are trying to obtain access to our GA account but for whatever reason when we login to our G account the analytics section is not showing any data which highlights the issue that someone at some point in time may have started a GA account under a different email address or it never existed?

We had a PR company prior and they supposedly had admin access to the GA account however as I said above no data shows.  So my questions are as follows:

1. How would we find out if in fact we have a GA account and the PR company were not fibbing?

2. Our website is a Wordpress site so where would I find the code that all of the threads state that is required to forward to Google for assistance?

3. How can we find out how many different company accounts we have with Google ?

Thank you could use all the help we can get Smiley Happy

Hi Trish, sorry to hear you are having issues

You can see if there is any tracking code installed on the current site by using Google Tag Assistant to check the site pages

You are able to get it free from the Chrome store
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tag-assistant-by-google/kejbdjndbnbjgmefkgdddjlbokphdefk?h...

There are instructions here on how to use it to check the site
https://support.google.com/tagassistant/answer/2947095?hl=en&ref_topic=6000196

Alternative, if you go to the website and right click and View source and then use your browser's find/search feature,

to search for both ga.js and analytics.js (to check if either version of the tracking is installed)

Once that has been done, you will likely need to try to recover the account, there is a comprehensive post by Niall in the following thread on how to go about doing this (its the one marked as best answer)
