Obtaining client_id and secret for analytics

I've been added on to my workplace's google analytics admin list.  However I would like to access the analytics api directly and cannot do so without a client_id and secret for OAuth2.0.  Is the only way to obtain this by asking the person who created the analytics?  I've tried going to the developer console and obtaining credentials but this seems to make me create a new project, when I just need access to an existing analytics project.

Hi Daniel,

You'll have to create a new project. See step #4 and the video for instructions here: http://www.ryanpraski.com/google-analytics-reporting-api-python-tutorial/
