Hi,

Steps:

Install GA debugger extension to chrome on desktop.

Open console by pressing F12.

Enable mobile simulator in the browser.

And open you website page.

Best Regards,
GA Guru.

'Star' or 'Accept as Solution' if it helped.

Hi Marten,

There are a few reasons why real time stats will not show:

1) Make sure you do not have any filters under Admin > View > Filters - that may exclude mobile
2) Some mobile traffic is lost to direct traffic due to browers and browser versions (particularly mobile) not reading the HTTP referrer headers properly - Check to see if you may be showing up as direct.
3) Some javascript causes conflict, resulting in HTTP referrer headers not reading properly ( you will still get a session but not from mobile)
4) Your tracking code might be outdated, Go into Admin > Property > Tracking Info and make sure you have the latest Universal tracking code

5) If you have filtered out your IP then you will not see your visit

Possible fix: go to Admin > View > "View Settings" and be sure you have the proper URL into the field "Website's URL"

It has been reported that If you do not frequently visit the real time reports then Google does sometimes suspend real time reports. Check back in couple hours and all should be back up and running.

Hello bryan,

Thank you very much for youre reply !

I use this code from the site of google analytics. Don't know if it is outdated.

<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

ga('create', 'UA-72946305-1', 'auto');
ga('send', 'pageview');

</script>

There are no filters.

I have a wordpress website and have used the Insert Headers and Footers plugin to get the code in the header. Maybe this is the problem ?

Question 1: When you visit your site from your phone do you see a direct visit?
Question 2: When you visit your site from another phone do you see a direct visit, a mobile visit or none
Question 3: When you visit your site from your desktop do you see a visit?

Bryan,

I have tested it with a friends phone and that went well ! He has the same phone as mine. The only difference is that mine is rooted. He has the original samsung firmware on it. I have a custom firmware. Still strange....

Hi Marten, then it sounds to me like your custom firmware may be masking the HTTP referrer headers.. resulting in your visit being defaulted to direct.
