New account when using new host, website but keeping old domain?

Hello!

I just finished a new website for a company. Now I want to implement Analytics and I'm confused about what I am supposed to do.

Is it possible to access the account for the old website and move on from there?
Or am I supposed to start from "scratch" and make a new account?

My boss has access to the old account. Can he make me admin on his account?

Visitors on the new website is transmitted to his account.

Hope that you will help me understand the situation.

Thanks,

Sofie R.

Hi,

If you want to track the new website in the same property as the old website, you just need to add the same tracking code to the new site and your boss can grant you permissions to the property. Please check the document below about managing users in Google Analytics:

Hope this helps, let me know if you have questions.

Thanks Arnold.

That worked out well. Now I have an admin user on the old account and I am able to access all data needed.

I've also put in the old tracking code on the new website. Smiley Happy

No problem Smiley Happy Please make sure you are using the Universal Analytics code from GA Admin -> Property -> Tracking Info -> Tracking Code.
